Cincinnati Bengals star wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase plans to replicate a memorable TD celebration Sunday against the Buffalo Bills if a former Bengals star pays the fine.
"Chad [Johnson], if I score a TD and grab the TV camera like you did. I need you to pay the fine for me. That's my only ask, man," Chase said Thursday, per Kelsey Conway of Cincinnati.com.
Johnson, nicknamed Ochocinco, starred for the Bengals from 2001-10. He was one of the NFL's most memorable characters and was well-known for his TD celebrations. For example, in 2007, Johnson grabbed a TV camera and started turning it after he scored in a game against the Tennessee Titans.
Unsurprisingly, Johnson supports Chase re-producing a memorable moment from his career. "Say less, I'll pay the fine," he wrote on his X account, formerly known as Twitter.

The Bengals will need Chase to have a strong performance in a pivotal home game against the Bills. They've won three straight games after a 1-3 start and reentered the playoff race. The New York Times simulator notes that the Bengals' playoff chances increase from 73 percent to 84 percent if they beat Buffalo.
Chase has been on a tear throughout the Bengals' winning streak. The 23-year-old caught 31 receptions for 372 yards and four TDs over the past three games.

"We've got to continue to be creative with ways to get him the ball because teams are always gonna try their best to take him away," Bengals head coach Zac Taylor recently said, per Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic. "And that's part of our job as coaches, just to make sure you can't fully take that guy away."
It wouldn't be surprising if Chase has another dominant outing and Cincinnati earns a fourth consecutive win. As of Thursday, OddsChecker lists the Bengals as two-point favorites.
