Tuttosport editor Guido Vaciago says Massimiliano Allegri is distraught after Juventus‘ sacking, given that he had imagined bidding farewell to fans by holding the Coppa Italia at the Allianz Stadium.

Allegri was sacked by Juventus on Friday, two days after a breakdown in the Coppa Italia Final in which he raged at directors, referees and journalist Vaciago.

Allegri cleared the air with the Tuttosport editor the following day, visiting the journalist in his newsroom, while Juventus confirmed the coach’s sacking a few hours later.

Vaciago spoke to Tutti Convocati on Sunday and described Allegri’s feelings after the Bianconeri’s decision.

“He regrets how it ended up with Juventus,” said Vaciago.

“He had imagined a perfect way to bid farewell to fans after Juventus-Monza, with the Coppa Italia in his hands. He is aware that he was denied the opportunity to do so for a silly thing, which disturbs him.”

Allegri had a year left in his contract with the Serie A giants, but Juventus’ statement suggests they will try to justify his sacking with ‘just cause’ considering his behaviour during and after the Coppa Italia Final.

Allegri has been temporarily replaced by Paolo Montero who will take charge of the Bianconeri in the last two games of the season against Bologna and Monza.
