Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez has become nothing less than a serial winner with a trophy ever 108 days for the last three years.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

When Martinez joined Inter, he had yet to win a senior trophy.

That is hardly surprising, considering that the Argentine was still just a young player when he made the switch to the Nerazzurri from Racing Club.

And Martinez did not start getting his hands on silverware right away after joining Inter.

In the Argentine’s first two seasons at the club, there were no trophies.

But those two campaigns saw steady growth, both from Inter as a team and from Martinez individually. Therefore, it seemed to be only a matter of time before the trophies would follow.

One Trophy Every 108 Days For Lautaro Martinez In Three-Year Period

Martinez helped Inter to the Serie A title in the 2020-21 season. Though he was not the captain or talismanic figure he is now, the Argentine striker was already starting to make a decisive contribution.

But better things were still to come.

That summer, Martinez helped Argentina to win the Copa America.

The following club season saw the heartbreak of missing out on the Serie A title by two points on the final day of the season for Inter.

But there were still two more trophies – the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana.

It was those same two trophies last season as well. On that occasion, Inter did not miss out on the Serie A title in heartbreaking circumstances – rather it was the Champions League final.

But in the middle of the season, Martinez won another trophy with Argentina – the World Cup.

Then this season, there were two more trophies with Inter. A third straight Supercoppa, and finally getting his hands on another Serie A title, this time as captain.

As the Corriere notes, this averages to a trophy every 108 days over the period for Martinez.
