Valencia coach Ruben Baraja admitted frustration with his squad after defeat at Real Sociedad.

Baraja concedes his team lacks the necessary quality to be competitive.

He said: "The difference in football is finishing.

"They scored a goal against us very early, it disorganised us a little, they had more control. We shot a lot on the goal, it was of great quality, of a high level. But they held on.

"In the second half we had the best chance. Of course we didn't make a mistake and we were already more exposed. I didn't like the start of the game, but I did like the second half.

"The starting point is really important. The goal we set was to improve what we saw last season, because we must not forget how bad we had it. This season we achieved the goal early and along that path we have built something different, with young kids. Those of us who know and aspire to Valencia, those of us who are Valencians, want it to be at the top of the table, but that will depend on the budget and what is being talked about.

"I may want a Ferrari but I do have to go in Skoda... the economic differences mark the objectives, we are on a difficult journey to live when you are a Valencian fan and you have seen what Valencia is, but we have to internalize it and now we will see what happens for the following season.

"We cannot want something without having the possibility to do it. And try with the tools we have, see what we can do. We have managed to build something with the kids."
